How do characters learn skills from gems?

Ex: The Gem Hyper-Attack (One more hit added for the character) has the Critical Blow skill and it work as follow:

Critical Blow: max 5 levels can be earned.

By equipping the Critical Blow Gem you can begin learning the ability by killing enemies:

Skill name (Critical Blow) Current level (0) Points necessary to learn the skill and level up (50)

The above is how you see the learning curve in the Gem equipping menu and the status screen menu, you need to have equipped the Gem to use the skill until you reach at least one level of the skill like this:

Skill name (Critical Blow) Current level (1) Points necessary to learn the skill and level up (100)

Now you don’t need the Gem to be equipped to use the skill now since you reached one level of the skill, but since Critical Blow has 5 levels you need the Gem equipped to learn the last 4 levels, note that the points necessary to level up increase with the level of the skill, let’s say you reach level 3 Critical Blow:

Skill name (Critical Blow) Current level (3) Points necessary to learn the skill and level up (120)

And so on until you reach level 5.

The Hyper-Attack Gem is a level 6 Gem and is a red colored Gem, now here you need a ring with a level 6 slot to learn points to level up and you need that slot to be a red colored one, otherwise the skill learning is cut by half (or possibly 1/4), here is how works for the Critical Blow Gem:

Critical Blow Gem/Level 6 gem/Red Colored Gem

Ring equipped: Slot A: Level 5 / Green Color Slot B: Level 6 / Yellow Color Slot C: Level 6 / Red Color

Now the Slot A is not viable because the level is too low for the Gem and so you won’t learn any points.

The Slot B seems like a good choice, but the color of the Gem is not the same as the Gem and so the points earned are cut by one-half.

The Slot C is the best choice since the level and color of the slot match the Gem and so you will learn points and your learning curve won’t be reduced.
